This review was written after my 2nd read. My thoughts on the audiobook can be found in my review of Book 1. And this book did up the emotional intensity and character development, as well as give us some twists and revelations, making it more enjoyable. I probably would’ve eaten it up with a spoon when I was a teenager though, and I recognize that this is a book for teens. It wasn’t unrealistic, but it was frustrating nonetheless. Unravel Me (Shatter Me 2) tick tick tick tick tick its almost time for war. Juliette I could understand, because of her life and how overwhelming the whole situation was, but it was Adam and Warner too! All of them! With their crying and their outbursts and their secrets and their tempers and their feelings and their “I’m so terrible, I’ll never be good, it’s too hard” speeches, even though they had more important things they needed to be focusing on. The second time, I found the drama to be more frustrating than emotional. I also found Warner even more interesting and intriguing, especially since I hadn’t read his novella yet. The first time I read these, I liked this book a lot more than the first because of how much more intensity and emotion it had. I feel like it’s impossible to talk about these books without discussing the whole series, so I’ve done quick thoughts for each individual books, plus a spoiler-free semi-series review with my review of Book 1 and a spoiler-filled discussion with my review of Book 3.
